Daily Editing Log

Day One

First, our group put the cassette inside the video camera (Canon XM2 DV). After we got a fire wire lead. Next we switched on the i Mac and linked the fire wire cable to the computer, logging on to the 'AS Media' area and opened Final Cut Express 4. Soon after, capturing a range of shots on the i Macs, reviewing what we have done, we choose the best establishing shot we recorded and cut a specific section from the clip so we start off with continuity editing, dragging it down towards the time-line.

Day Two

We cut and pasted all the pieces we recorded and put them in order, editing certain scenes. After wards Keith selected a instrumental to go with the theme of the video we were trying to create. Keith put in the right sequences and frames. time-line what could go in sync with our 1st idea of the instrumental and edited after school.

Day Three
We made a group decision to not go with the instrumental and change it, to make the mood in the opening sequence feel verisimilitude to the people that are watching it. We didn't have a lot to put together on the i Macs, so we decided to make do and leave time-spaced gaps which will be filled in later on, when we got the footage we needed.

Day Four
After capturing the footage we got, we arranged the order of sequences we had on the time line, and took out all the unnecessary parts that were not needed. We decided to make effects with the beginning by making the instrumental go in tune with the video by adding jump cuts here and there

Day Five

We used Livetype 2.0 to do the titles and credits and inserted them in the begging and the ending of our film trailer. Afterwards we changed the brightness of certain scenes and adjusted them.

Day Six

The dialouge we recorded for Igor's scene was put in as it was needed int he middle of our film sequence. We cut and pasted the parts of the audio Keith recorded at his house.

Day Seven

The final pieces of our work was put together as crossfades were put in on the instrumental, and background noise was sorted, we uploaded them on the blog, and the final product onto the desktop and converted the files of our preliminary, storyboard and final sequence onto the desktop
